Animal Care and Use Program

The University of Cincinnati Animal Care and Use Program is responsible for the regulatory and veterinary oversight of all research activities that involve animals within the institution

All Forms, Policies and Procedures are now located within Research How 2, where faculty and staff will find a centralized location for all their transactional needs.

The University of Cincinnati (UC) Animal Care and Use Program (ACUP) encompasses Laboratory Animal Medical Services (LAMS, the animal facilities) and the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) office.  We are committed to facilitating research and education while providing the highest quality animal care. Our program is fully AAALAC accredited and you can view our last USDA inspection report.

Our ACUP offices oversee all activities conducted by or at the university that have a direct impact on animals which includes veterinary care, policies and procedures, personnel and program management and oversight, occupational health and safety, IACUC functions, and animal facility design and management.  We strive to support scientific advancement and teaching while maintaining full compliance.
